Biography
John Manesis, born in Eau Claire, Wisconsin in 1936, is a retired physician. He and his wife, Bess, have lived in Fargo, North Dakota, since 1974. They have four grown
children. His poetry has appeared in over 70 literary publications,
including California State Quarterly, Wisconsin
Review, North Dakota Quarterly, Footwork: Paterson Literary Review, and The Charioteer. His work
is included in several anthologies as well, including Pomegranate Seeds: An Anthology of Greek American Poetry. The Journey of Andrew Burke, a long narrative
poem based on the life of the second Governor of North Dakota, an orphan train graduate, was published as a chapbook in 1998. His first book of poetry, With All My Breath, was published in 2003 and his
second, Other Candle Lights, in 2008. Consider, If You Will, a collection of sonnets, was published
in 2010 and In the Third Season in 2012. All his books are available at Createspace and amazon.com. He has given public
readings of his poetry in North Dakota, California, and Wisconsin.
